The first sub-module will focus on the urban physical infrastructure and discuss how mobilities are formed and find meaning based on the functions and characteristics of these infrastructures. Students are expected to unfold these relationships by doing an ethnographic research in the selected area. Students will also search the spatial reflection of some concepts (as well as their counter-parts) such as continuity, proximity, transparency, entrance and passage.
Fieldwork: data collection and analysis through on-site observation in groups of five
Data Presentation and Interpretation: mapping (of different physical layers), diagrams of horizontal and vertical mobility of people and goods (if possible also virtual movements), 2D-3D drawings of physical structures that produce vertical movements
Submission material: A2 poster with abovementioned information (one per group)
